Mike was born and rasied in Pekin, a home-boy! He came from a hard-working construction background. In school, Mike excelled in sports-(football and wrestling). He came to experience a personal relationship with God through Jesus while in Jr. High in the early 70's. Upon graduation in 1977, Mike attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and continued his wrestling career. Mike met his wife, Lynn after on year in college. He moved back to Pekin and worked a short time for Caterpillar, Inc. In 1982, Mike, Lynn and the children moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Mike attended Calvary Bible College and Graduate School. In 1988 he received a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies and subsequently earned his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies in 1990 with awards of Pastoral Studies Award; American Association of Bible Colleges. Mike has alo gone on to Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, earning a Master of Divinity in May of 2003. He has been pastor at Calvary for 17 years. Mike loves to discuss Jesus and theology with anyone!
His wife, Lynn, was born in Peoria and raised in Marquette Heights. Lynn came to know the Lord as her personal Savior also while in Jr. High. She also graduated in 1977 from Pekin High School. Lynn has spent most of her married life raising their 5 children: Jessica, Gabriel, Marcus, Miles, and Mason. She has also owned and operated her own business, Calli-n-Colors in the past. She loves dogs, owning four of them; a Labrador, two Masiffs, and an Asutralian Cattle Dog.
Mike and Lynn love to walk, enjoy sports, and reading.
